Worrying that the major headlines in most papers was that a group of people were capable of showing a small bit of class during a moments silence for 23 dead people.

We shouldn't be applauding it, we should pointing out that it is the least acceptable.

As a side, the Man Utd kit looked great.

That's the unfortunate thing Johnny. There are so many idiots around nowadays that the least acceptable thing one can do is suddenly applauded. Was watching the news today and one of the latest "in" things for English yobs to do is to call up the fire brigade and then assault the crew when they turn up.

- Media answering their own claims, made prior to the match, about the City fans ruining the day. ****s painted up the worst case scenario and then pat themselves on the shoulder for it not happening.

The Firemen thing's been happening for years.

A one minutes silence used to be such a rare thing that people always respected it.  You'd see maybe 1 a season.  Nowadays ever fecker who pops his clogs gets a one minute silence and they've become regular events and as such have lost their meaning.  Times when a minutes silence is justified, such as Sunday, are thrown in with a minutes silence for some bog cleaner who used to go to every game.

There are idiots who support every team Robser. Our fans sang Munich songs too. Today we had an idiot registering (he has been banned of course) under the user name of "96 Not Enough" in obvious reference to Hillsborough. You'd think such a sicko would avoid such insults this week of all weeks.

I think there may be something to this.

The last thing any rational person would want is to be disrespectful towards the Munich and Hillsborough tragedies, to name a few. But in 50 or 100 years from now, would we still be making one minute silence on the anniversaries of these events?

I think at one point or another, we have to continue with our lives and not let these respectful events lose their meaning.

On the other hand, I have to congratulate the City fans. At least I did not hear one squeek.

Depends on your view towards violence against women and the glorification of alcohol abuse.  Booing someones death is not right, but in some cases the minutes silence should just be left to the team he played for - and I think this was an example of just such an occasion.

Don't forget that one of their ex-players died in the crash also so to disrupt the silence was to disrespect their former goalie.  I don't think anything was ever going to happen.  They sang about that player during the game so there was never going to be any booing.

Best is one of the best (no pun intended) footballers to ever play the game! Absolute genius - if he cant be remembered - its like saying when Pele dies - there shouldnt be a minute silence in all the grounds in Brazil (where he played his club football) cause he promoted viagra!!

Pele didn't beat women and say things publically like "They need a slap to keep them in line" and he also didn't glorify alcohol abuse for years until the very end when he had weeks left to live.  Best was a great footballer (Giggs was better) but he was a total prick.  To compare Pele to Best is just ******* laughable.  It's like comparing Maradona to Louis Garcia.

As I said (but you chose to ignore it from my 2 line post) Booing a minutes silence is wrong.  However, one for this guy at a match between his two most hated rivals was just odd.  I didn't feel the need to mourne his death.  In fact I didn't care when he died.  Just like I'm not emotionally attached to the people who died in a car crash yesterday on the news.
