Just how awesome was that INT? Couldn't be happier for that city. And yeah HL...what a gutsy ******* call. I cannot ever remember such a gutsy call so early in a game on such an occasion.
OH WHEN THE SAINTS......!!
WOOHOO!!!

Nobody...this would be of interest to you and probably piss you off too unfortunately. At the superbowl party I was at, there was a girl who knew someone that worked inside the Chargers organization. Apparently, not only was Vincent Jackson out partying the night before the Jets game, so were 5 other members of the team whose names I do not know. LT or Gates were not involved. In fact, it's this lack of team unity that has made LT decide that he wants to leave the Chargers regardless of whether they were going to cut him or not. He was really sad that it came to this.

I don't think anything has been decided yet. He would be a good pick-up for any team. He still has it in him to have a few more great seasons, barring injury. But, there are very few teams he can be a starter on and yeah, the redskins are one of them especially with Portis on the wane.

Not too sure I read much in to this..."players were out drinking before the game" business. You hear these rumours all the time in sport when teams lose. I'd have thought it would have been in the local papers.
At the end of the day - Vincent jackson was our best reciever for over 100 yards despite playing on Revis; Gates dropped 3 sitters he would usually eat, and at one stage was lairising with the ball after a catch by highstepping down the field instead of knocking over defenders; and LT did **** all (courtesy of Norvs imaginative run playcalling which comprises of LT up the middle, LT up the middle....and then just to mix it up...LT up the middle)
LT has openly said he wants a SB ring. So he's only ever going to go to a team that is going to have a chance at that. Thats a team like New England or the Texans, rather than the 'skins.

Is LT in a position to dictate such terms though realistically? That sideways shuffle for 1 yard gains might suggest, no.

He's still got it in him for another couple of seasons barring injuries. He played well the latter half of last season.

Sorry, but you cannot compare that ****tard Terrell Owens to LT. From my understanding, LT has always been a team player in the Chargers organization, while Terrell Owens has never been a team player anywhere. LT could have made a fuss when they traded Brees to New Orleans, but he didn't. His loyalty to the Chargers is examplary and the only reason he is leaving is because the Chargers want to let him go. He does not want to leave San Diego. Also, Owen's ego is 100 times bigger than LT. No doubting LT has an ego, but most pro athletes who are good at the game have an ego. It's how they let their ego be portrayed is what seperates the good ones fron the bad ones. Owens is a disgrace to the game and should frankly retire. I am really happy he has never won a superbowl and hope he never does. But, LT deserves a superbowl and I hope he goes to a team that can give him the chance to win one.

Its not a forgone conclusion that LT is leaving anyway, is it?
Sproles average per carry was no better than LT's, which tells you it was the lack of offensive lineblocking and lousy play calling.
What coach calls predominantly up the middle runs, especially when your all-pro Centre is injured for the entire year. Both Lt and Sproles longest carries without exception has been outside runs, pitches and sweeps.
But Norv only ever calls running plays to compact the defense and set up the pass. If he wants short wide plays he will more likely call screens.
LT has at least two more 1000 yard seasons in him, and had he been called as often as he was under Shottenheimer, he would have had another 1000 yard season this year. All Norv has done with LT since he's taken over is stiffle his running game and use him as a battering ram, taking most of the hits for the team. No way to treat one of the greatest RB's of all time....and as KD says, he is one of the most humblest going around. Have no idea where you get your info from noel.
There is something unique in the trade season this year too...something like a once off uncapped salary season...which means the trade season is unusually complex. Not sure how it all works. I think LT took a paycut last season to stay at the Chargers, but quite rightly refuses to take another as he's under contract for two more seasons. The Chargers have a lot of other players whose contracts are up.
One of the biggest debates going around though is.....where will Tebow go?? Who will risk him?

Correct...its not a foregone conclusion that LT is leaving, but he himself admitted in the local papers almost a couple of weeks ago that he does not expect to be back: http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/2010/feb/04/tomlinson-says-he-wont-be-back-with-bolts/In any case, we'll know in a few weeks what the decision is by the Chargers. With regards to the upcoming season, you are correct. There is no salary cap for 2010 which is goof for unrestricted free agents, and the owners and the league will have to come up with a CBA (collective bargaining agreement) before the 2011 season starts or else there is going to be no NFL season in 2011. It's all ******* greed and makes me sick. This artciel explains it quite well: http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/nfl/2008-05-20-owners-labor-deal_N.htmAs for Tebow, it will be interesting to see who will risk him considering he has only played in the spread offense in college, which most "experts" around here say is not condusive to be able to transition to the NFL. I am not sure why as I don't know enough about the system to comment. Others say he does not have an "NFL arm". On radio, I have heard 2 different commentators say that he would do really well in the NFL as a running back. We'll see I guess. It is interesting though to note that most of the top draft picks the past few years have not done well.

The "NFL arm" is because he has a long wind up dropping the ball down to his hip before he throws. Experts reckon he wont get that luxury in the NFL as he wont have the time that he has in college. Its a bad habit that has never been coached out of him.
Compare it to the likes of Manning who always holds the ball up around his shoulder pads, and releases the ball quickly once he decides to throw.
