RJ Gerrard was shocking yesterday but it is nothing to do with his ability or lack thereof to play CM. I mean he couldnt find a 5 yard pass, we all know he is well capable of passing the ball but had a howler last night - he must of given the ball away aimlessly atleast 10 times in the first half when under no pressure! I dont think this is a lack of ability to play CM as we know he would normally be able to complete 5 yard passes but for whatever reason every single asp[ect of his game was shite last night and if he'd been off Torres im sure it'd of been the same.

As for Kuyt, he shouyld of been off at half time, honestly he should of. Somebody should tell him we wear red cause all his passes were to blue and white. Insua was shocking again, terrible! Ah whats the ******* point, I could go threw the whole team.

All I will say as regard the lucas debate and him being a scapegoat, I think he is part of the problem, because he gets the ball and he takes that extra 1 or 2 seconds to set himself before completing his pass and this gives the opposition time to read it and get set up. When Xabi was there, he knew the pass before getting the ball and the opposition wasnt prepared to deal with it as they are now. No fault on Lucas, its rafa's fault but I do think thats a big problem for us.

I knew we wouldnt win this game, thought it was gonna be a nil all and in predictions for 4th had said as much but I cant actually believe how bad we were and judging by rafa's post match comments neither can he. Its amazing with how shit we are this year that we are even in 6th - we dont deserve to be, we're terrible.

I think Gerrard has been a disappointment for some time. He was truely emense last year but when Rafa says some plays aren't conveying the right attitude on the field to me he looks like the chief culprit.

I'd still rather play Aquilani than Lucas when partnering Mascherano. While Lucas is more dependable and probably more consistent. Alberto offers an element of unpredictability/flair that I think could see us unlock teams defences.

Crap performance. No will, no guts, no points.

Insua was awful, yet has showed some worth this season.
Carragher is on a painful slide down to the next division, not worth keeping after this season IMO.
Kyrigiakos is our best defender together with Agger, and they seem a good combo together.
Mascherano is fantastic when he's inspired like last night.
Kuyt is awful and can be sold back to Holland for all I care, a player with such a lack of technical ability and creative understanding has no place in a team like Liverpool. His strengths don't add up to nothing more than a pat on the shoulder, his weaknesses are devastating for our attack.
Lucas is a second rate player who's a good back up to the starting eleven. He might in some miraculous fashion become a good footballer thought. Somehow, sometime, someplace.
Gerrard was shit, probably pissed off at having to play with Kuyt and Lucas.
Benny didn't have a good night, but he's a decent footballer
Maxi is a good player, seemed to want to try when the rest of the team had lost focus.
Torres is the greatest, but when the rest of the team can't create chances for him, and he's not up to doing miracle work like last night, he's not going to score goals either.
Reina's the best.

Babel might as well start ahead of Kuyt, same goes for Aquilani and Lucas.

With regards to Insua I think N'Zogbia did give him a torrid time but he was not helped by the fact that whoever was playing LM ahead of him was not in the game (Kuyt , Yossi, Maxi) and at times (Kuyt) even set up N'Zogbia themselves. He was trying and got involved a lot going forward. A positive I've seen in Insua of late is that he has improved his 1st touch a lot and it enables him to get that extra yard when running with the ball.

You know if Rafa ran on to the pitch and then took a shit in the centre circle there would be people on here that would post the following:

"We need to give the shit time. It's a foreign shit and shit like that takes longer to settle in the prem."

"The shit would have been better if it wasn't a cold weekday on TV."

"It's not the shit's fault that it doesn't have millions to work with."

"In shit we trust. If you don't believe in the shit then you arn't a real fan."

Just a line from the article:

"Liverpool - Alberto Aquilani

Still on the fringes after his summer move from Roma, the Italian's second-half cameo on Monday was one of precious few positives on what was otherwise a horrendous night for the Reds. His class is undoubted, and the travelling Kopites will be hoping they see some of it here.
"

Didn't see the game, what is the go with that?
Did he play well etc.?

He almost always successfully passed to players in red. Which is a considerable achievement considering our utter shitness on that day.

He came on at one downa nd we finished the game one down so no he didnt have an influence if you ask me, i also didnt see him do anything to suggest he played well.

Isn't that a bit simplistic Robser? So if Aquilani had to come on when we are 1-0 down and hit the post 10 times and set up Torres with 50 chances which Torres misses when one on one with the keeper, would you say that Aquilani had no influence seeing that the result went unchanged? I am of course exaggerating my example to make a point, which is that a player can have a positive influence on his team, but ultimately one player alone cannot always make the difference in the score line.

With regards to the Wigan game I think he did ok. As GR said him passing better than most of the others out there made it a performance that in other games would not be noted that much.

His influence was in trying to get the team to pass better and it worked for a short time.  But, too little too late.
