I am off to Eurodisney with the family tomorrow. Looking forward to it. Alessia knows we are going away but not where we are going. Can't wait to see the expression on her face when she sees her favourite characters.

Yeah I was thre a good few years back, quality place. Lots to do and see and plenty of pubs/clubs and yeah go to Cristianval or christiana, its like amsterdam there.

I heard they cleaned up Christiana and its not as "free" as it used to be. Is that true or not?

They have cleared it up from waht ive heard but they still throw a blind eye to it. I think for a while heavier class A's were coming in so they ahd to do something but it still exists alright!

Well I'm back and it is a cool city. Cold as you'd expect. Not often you come back home and feel like it's a warm place. I think the best way to describe it is 'Blondes on Bikes'. Anyway had fun. Pricey in places but found a pub selling cheaper pints than here so can't argue with that.

There was a problem for a while with heroin and other harder drugs infiltrating christiania mostly brought in by bikie gangs who tried to take control of the place. In response the citizens organised the sixty day blockade (I think) and patrolled the streets and known haunts of the junkies. Anyone they found using or selling heroin was given a choice: leave christiania or go to rehab. I can't remember the figures but a helluva lot of them went to rehab and they managed to clean it up and get rid of most of the bad elements. In saying that, a couple of months before we were there there was a grenade attack which injured a bunch of people and there is pretty regular violence/gun crime. Had the best lunch of my life in one of the restaurants there though, vegetarian buffet style where you paid by the weight of the food you had but it was ridiculously cheap.

Everyone says that it's been cleaned up from the hash/weed trade as well, but it hasn't. I was on pusher st in December and there were heaps of stalls selling hash and weed openly. I heard the only concession they made to the Danish government who asked them to make it less 'visible' was to put camouflage nets over the stalls as a joke.
