We needed Maxi at some stage last Saturday. He is one of the few with a knack for being in the right place to nick a goal. We had it with Garcia and Benayoun before him and we needed him last Saturday. To be fair Downing et al all had a decent game but at some stage round the 70 min mark we needed to try something different.

yeah i agree downing did ok, but as you say maxi can nick a goal, downing should be more of a provider, whereas maxi cuts in and gets himself in great positions to score.

We had the chances to score 5-6 goals. Credit to their keeper for some great saves but the Kelly miskick and Downing not squaring properly for Suarez had me tear my hair out. Oh and hitting the post twice........

And Adam not slotting in henderson with an easy pass that would ahve left henderson clean through.
When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence?
I think not.

Throw in the Downing opportunity with Suarez as well...

In hindsight, a draw would've been a decent result considering Chelsea losing and Newcastle dropping points.
